The Wheel

A large space-station in the Besh Gorgon system of the Mid Rim, it is owned by The Wheel, LLC, an Imperially-recognized corporation with shares owned by the noble houses of Coruscant, Xizor Shipping Systems, and various criminal interests galaxy-wide. It is primarily represented by Senator Simon Greyshade, who protects the Wheel’s interests in the Imperial Senate and maintains the “sphere of neutrality” that keeps the Empire from overtly acting on the Wheel. Mostly intended as a tax shelter, the Wheel’s circular outer section hosts hundreds of docking points and a massive city of ultra-high-priced resorts and casinos, frequented by wealthy amateurs and clever professionals and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Mid Rim. The spire, in theory, serves as a warehouse and technical area to keep the luxurious station running, but Greyshade and his associates with the corporation quickly found another, less legal use for the area, In fact, those in the know look to the Wheel itself as one of the Galaxy’s most lucrative, but dangerous, pirate ports. Almost any sort of illegal activity not guaranteed to have ISB agents crawling down Greyshade’s throat are allowed, from drug-smuggling to arms-peddling, though the canny usually choose somewhere less conspicuous to do their business. To keep the “rabble” in line, Greyshade keeps a Wheel Security Force active on the circular portion, and gives carte blanche to the Rounder Cartel and it’s patron, “The Senator,” to keep the pirates and criminals on line on the spire.
